Coders, Programmers or Developers?

Coders write software codes, they need a subject, a problem or a situation, and they code. You ask them to write code to read email from your POP3, they will create a code to fetch emails from your POP3 server and display the same to you.

A Programmer is a person, who assembles small codes, and creates a utility or part of software. He manages coders, he breaks a software into smaller tasks and assigns them to coders. Say he asks one coder to fetch emails from POP3 server and asks another coder to write code to send emails through SMTP Server.

A Developer is a person, who combines several utilities and develops a software or suite. He assigns responsibilities of different utilities to different programmers. He may ask one programmer who is expert in POP3/SMTP protocols to handle receiving and sending of emails, and asks another programmer to store the information sent or received from mail servers into a database. As such, he is managing a job to create an email client. It is his duty to manage programmers, and compile there work and give birth to a usable software.

The Difference

Practically, there exists no difference between a Coder, a Programmer or a Developer. The only difference is of EXPERIENCE. A person cannot work as a developer, until and unless he has worked as a programmer, a programmer cannot function unless he has been a coder. A programmer or developer is again a coder, just as a Computer is nothing but an Integrated Circuit, built by assembling multiple Integrated Circuits.
